That one was kind of a slow-pitch to get warmed up. They get better.
#2
Sounds pretty good, but not in the Bible. This is an old Chinese proverb.

Paul said:
"in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." - 2 Corinthians 12:7-10

"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs." - 1 Timothy 6:10

"I have escaped only by the skin of my teeth." - Job 19:20
Job set off on a rant that would entertain any Edgar Allan Poe fan.

This phrase originates from an old hymn, "God Moves in a Mysterious Way." Although not in the Bible, it is good theology.
Jesus replied, "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand." - John 13:7
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him. - Romans 8:28

Not a literal quote but it's definitely in there.
- "a man has nothing better under the sun than to eat, drink, and be merry; for this will remain with him in his labor all the days of his life" - Ecclesiastes 8:15
- "Let us eat and drink," you say, "for tomorrow we die!" - Isaiah 22:13
- "You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry." - Luke 12:19. Then the speaker died.
The problem with this phrase is that it's taken out of context. It is used in the Bible but is not used to characterize a healthy lifestyle.

"You are the salt of the earth." - Matthew 5:13

"The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox." - Isaiah 11:6-7
"The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox." - Isaiah 65:25
Close but no cigar.
