Houseboat 1958
Houseboat - Cary Grant and Sophia Loren
Recently widowed Tom Winston gets the cold shoulder while trying to reunite with his three young, estranged children.
Through a series of coincidences that only 1950s Hollywood could create,Tom:
- meets Cinzia, an Italian socialite rebelling against her father's control
- hires a maid that can't cook or do laundry
- buys a house in the country
- losses that house when it's run over by a train (yes, run over by a train)
- buys a dilapidated houseboat
- gets marooned
- gets the girl
- gets a different girl
- gets married
And, of course, they all live happily ever after.
